Earthquake :'(

One of the worst disasters the world has seen. At least the worst one that I have seen and the one that has affected me the most. Indeed a challenge for all of us to do whatever it takes to come out of it. God bless all those affected and Help us help them.

"Starwars" world: How real?

Nice article on National Geographic where some of the scientists take a deeper look into the world created by Star Wars and delibrate how close it is to reality, if ever possible.

The picture gallery shows various planets including Naboo (home of Queen Amidala) among others.

To quote:
For example, related to the cohabitation of humans and Gungans on NabooSeth Shostak states, "So maybe it's possible to share, as long as neither species has the technology to obliterate, enslave, or merely cook and eat each other.""

Blog post leads to Killer's capture

Horrifying but interesting story how an e-journal entry helped the cops catch the ruthless killer of two sisters..

This is scary; someone got murdered but blogged shortly before, revealing the killer’s identity. Read the full story at the New York Daily News. [Via Waxy.]

Stealth Bomber spotted on Google Maps :)

German Spiegel points to a stealth bomber uncovered on Google Maps. Spiegel writes, “As you know it’s prohibited to get close to military bases, let alone photograph them. Usually satellite images which are made public online are retouched to blur scenerey which might compromise security. At least that’s what you assume in times of terror. However, the googling tourist stumbles upon a stealth bomber on a military airport in California. Apparently, someone forgot to paint over this one.”

11 steps to a better brain

"While becoming a nun might be an extreme way to avoid senility, there are lots of other tricks, techniques and habits, as well as changes to your lifestyle, diet and behaviour that can help you flex your grey matter and get the best out of your brain cells." From the article:
"First, go to the top of the class by eating breakfast. The brain is best fuelled by a steady supply of glucose, and many studies have shown that skipping breakfast reduces people's performance at school and at work. "

Yoda quotes

Yoda quotes and other interesting ones

my favorites:

"Do or do not; there is no try"

"Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you."Yoda speaking to Anakin at the Jedi Council

"Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into The Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is. Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose." -- Yoda

and the most pathetic:

"Around the survivors, a perimeter create."Yoda

Some nice info on the series

I like the similarities section there. Also the Major themes and Influences section.

Star Wars portal on Wikiportal

Cool piece of software i think. Of course the official site is most comprehensive
